These are horrible economic times. They are unprecedented. Financial television should provide some sort of assurances of stability or continuity. There needs to be some gray hair saying that things are going to be alright in order to calm people down. Yet, CNBC and its parent company GE are the worst violators of ageism in the history of corporate America. They will opt for Maria Bartiromo's chest long before they will value Sue Herera's intelligence. They have moved out the older faces before on CNBC, and they told Bill to get a facelift or he was going to disappear in the same way so he went for one.
I think that it is unfortunate that GE would force Bill to go get a facelift to keep a job. He will be the ridicule of his family this Thanksgiving.
This time, more than any, calls for letting the older crowd keep their jobs and even show their age.

I agree completely. Across the media, old is bad and young (and now young and minority) is good. Especially for CNBC and similar venues, older age give confidence. They should get with it.

Mark Haines isn't young but he's the best thing on CNBC. He's the only one who seems to know what is going on.

Mark Haines is a friend of mine and would be the first to agree with this article. Heck, he probably wrote it.

Unprecedented my a$$. All of our financial and social ills have happened before, many, many times in many nations. When you consume more than you produce, allow leaders to "manage" your currency, send your armies across the seas and imprison far more people than the rest of the civilized world under the laws of a mobocracy, you end up with less of everything you were trying to gain. Nothing new about our mistakes, nothing new about the results.

To me, Mark sounds like a pitch man at a circus sideshow.I believe David Faber and Charlie Gasparino offer a lot with their insights. The girls are pretty and Michelle's two assets are obvious. I will miss Bill.

I wish Bill the best. He and Sue made the show. Michelle should co-anchor with Kudlow....no need for guests. They could shout over each other as they both try to hog the limelight. They don't share the camera or microphone. Once my favorite Jimmy Rogers was promoted as a guest and I think in total he got five words in with Kudlow in the picture. Now with my dish I can find another spot for lunch hour. THEY better not even think about getting rid of Sue. She's such a brilliant lady.

To this day, and still is, Sue Herrea is my number one on CNBC. Back in California they (Sue, Bill, and I think Cavuto) were on a business TV station call KTYM..I think! You talk about a attractive woman on TV, Sue was on that station, and I couldn't take my eyes off her. Still is a "looker"..This Michelle Cabruso,whatever.. should be teamed with Larry Kudlow..two old hacks!!!
